A Vice President in the department of Science and Medicine works with members of other departments within the company to ensure that our work (e.g., proposals, corporate position papers, web-copy, illustrations, animation) is medically accurate and up-to-date. This individual is also responsible for helping to ensure that all content created for health professionals is tailored to the sophistication level and interests of the target audience. These responsibilities may, at times, overlap with those of the various individuals in the Editorial Department; on some projects, a VP of Science and Medicine may play the role of a writer, copy supervisor, or medical editor.
In addition, a VP of Science and Medicine may be asked to contribute to new business opportunities by conducting research relevant to the prospective client’s objectives, or by assessing the quality and adding his/her insights to research reports prepared by others for this purpose.
The VP of Science and Medicine may be asked to educate client teams regarding a disease category or an aspect of science relevant to the client’s product, such as pharmacology, or the competitors in a given therapeutic category.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities for individuals in this position will vary depending on the skills and aptitudes (besides their professional medical knowledge and experience that they bring to Digitas Health). For example, someone with experience in journalism might be expected to play a more active editorial role; someone with IT experience might get involved in developing algorithms for interactive health screening programs.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
