Location

Pacific time zone residence preferred or alternative time zone acceptable if you are able to work until 8 PM EST weekdays.

We are looking for an Oncology Nurse that needs a change from being on their feet all day.  This opportunity will allow you to keep your clinical knowledge strong but also to help patients receive the best care at the lowest cost. 

  • You will serve as a member of the team that reviews requests for medical necessity and supportive care drug regimens. Review requests from medical oncologists and evaluate if the requests for authorization are supported for coverage and are the most appropriate, evidenced-based treatment for the given situation – all based on you and your team’s expert knowledge and adhering to health plan specific guidelines 
  • Look up Medicare, Medicare and Commercial guidelines and apply to medical necessity review 
  • You’ll work alongside Board Certified Physicians and PharmD teams to ensure the comprehensive care model is working and that all processes internally are aligned with the product strategy and quality improvement efforts.
  • We also need you to maintain accurate records of all interventions and communications and provide timely verbal/written reports on each case. 

What we need: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required
  • Must have current Registered Nurse licensure
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) certification for Senior level title 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in direct oncology patient care, preferably in the outpatient setting
  • Understanding of chemotherapy and supportive care drug regimens, and Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance guidelines
